In 1908, even though Billy Durant invited Weston-Mott to become part of a new automotive holding company called General Motors or GM, C. To this end, Weston-Mott was making wheels and axles in Flint by the end of 1906. He was just 30 years old and did not want to supervise two plants far apart from each other. Mott chose to move the entire company and his family to Flint.
